Imy Wax

Imy F. Wax, M.S.,LCPC,CEP is a psy­chother­a­pist and edu­ca­tional con­sul­tant. Imy is a mem­ber of sev­eral pro­fes­sional and parental orga­ni­za­tions. She is a Cer­ti­fied Diplo­mate in Psy­chother­apy, Licensed Clin­i­cal Pro­fes­sional Coun­selor, Cer­ti­fied Edu­ca­tional Plan­ner and a mem­ber of the National Board for Cer­ti­fied Coun­selors. Imy has com­pleted addi­tional grad­u­ate work and courses in psy­chother­apy, fam­ily ther­apy and neu­ro­science.


Imy Wax has pre­sented at both pro­fes­sional and parental con­fer­ences on such top­ics as “The Emo­tional Expec­ta­tions of Par­ent­ing a Child with Learn­ing Dis­abil­i­ties,” and “Mak­ing a Match: Choos­ing Post-secondary Options.” Imy con­ducts work­shops for par­ents on rais­ing chil­dren with learn­ing dis­abil­i­ties and/or atten­tion deficit/hyperactivity dis­or­der, as well as, for school dis­tricts all over the United States on the col­lege process . She has been invited a num­ber of times to speak at con­fer­ences and at schools in coun­tries in Asia and South Amer­ica.


Imy F. Wax is co-author of the highly-acclaimed K&W Guide to Col­leges for Stu­dents with Learn­ing Dis­abil­i­ties or Atten­tion Deficit Dis­or­der and author of numer­ous arti­cles which have appeared in both pro­fes­sional and par­ent jour­nals.


A fre­quent guest on radio and tele­vi­sion pro­grams, she has appeared on the NBC “Today Show,” WCBS-TV “Com­mon Ground,” and has talked on local pro­grams such as WCBS-FM 101.1 “Fam­ily Talk,” WBBM-AM “News Fea­tures,” and WUSN-FM “Chicago Up Close.“
