Imy F. Wax, M.S.,LCPC,CEP is a psychotherapist and educational consultant. Imy is a member of several professional and parental organizations. She is a Certified Diplomate in Psychotherapy, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Certified Educational Planner and a member of the National Board for Certified Counselors. Imy has completed additional graduate work and courses in psychotherapy, family therapy and neuroscience.
Imy Wax has presented at both professional and parental conferences on such topics as “The Emotional Expectations of Parenting a Child with Learning Disabilities,” and “Making a Match: Choosing Post-secondary Options.” Imy conducts workshops for parents on raising children with learning disabilities and/or attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, as well as, for school districts all over the United States on the college process . She has been invited a number of times to speak at conferences and at schools in countries in Asia and South America.
Imy F. Wax is co-author of the highly-acclaimed K&W Guide to Colleges for Students with Learning Disabilities or Attention Deficit Disorder and author of numerous articles which have appeared in both professional and parent journals.
A frequent guest on radio and television programs, she has appeared on the NBC “Today Show,” WCBS-TV “Common Ground,” and has talked on local programs such as WCBS-FM 101.1 “Family Talk,” WBBM-AM “News Features,” and WUSN-FM “Chicago Up Close.”
Wearing multiple ‘hats’ Imy Wax is not only an author, an Educational Consultant and psychotherapist, she’s a mother, a wife and a friend.
