Mary­beth Kravets, M.A., col­lab­o­rates with Imy Wax and also works inde­pen­dently on the col­lege process with stu­dents and their fam­i­lies. She has been a coun­selor and col­lege con­sul­tant at Deer­field High School, a pub­lic high school in Deer­field Illi­nois since 1979. She has acted as an edu­ca­tional con­sul­tant to high schools, col­leges, not-for-profit orga­ni­za­tions and fam­i­lies. She is a Past Pres­i­dent of the National Asso­ci­a­tion for Col­lege Admis­sion Coun­sel­ing (NACAC) and pre­vi­ously served as the Pres­i­dent of the Illi­nois Asso­ci­a­tion for Col­lege Admis­sion Coun­sel­ing. In addi­tion to co-authoring the K&W Guide, she also co-authored, with Dr. Michael Koehler, “Coun­sel­ing Sec­ondary Stu­dents with Learn­ing Dis­abil­i­ties: Ready To Use Guide­lines, Tech­niques and Mate­ri­als to Help Stu­dents Pre­pare for Col­lege and Work” (The Cen­ter for Applied Research in Edu­ca­tion, A Simon & Schus­ter Com­pany), and has writ­ten arti­cles for many pro­fes­sional jour­nals. She has been a guest on NBC’s “Today Show” and has appeared on many other radio and tele­vi­sion pro­grams. She has pre­sented at major con­fer­ences in the United States and Europe.
